Το Game Awards 2018 έλαβε τέλος μέσω μιας τρίωρης τελετής που διεξήχθη στο Λος Άντζελες. Τα βραβεία απονεμήθηκαν στους φετινούς κατόχους, ενώ πολλοί developers βρήκαν ευκαιρία για ανακοινώσεις. Από τα παιχνίδια που βραβεύτηκαν ξεχώρισαν το God of War ως το Game of the Year καθώς και το Red Dead Redemption 2 το οποίο απέσπασε τα περισσότερα βραβεία (4). Εκτός από τις βραβεύσεις των παιχνιδιών, την τιμητική τους είχαν και τα Esports με βραβεύσεις παιχτών, ομάδων, managers κλπ., καθώς και μερικές ανακοινώσεις νέων παιχνιδιών όπως το επόμενο Far Cry: New Dawn, Mortal Kombat 11, κ.α. Δεν άργησε η στιγμή και τα Game Awards επιβεβαιώνουν την υπεροχή των "δυνατών" φετινών τίτλων από τους οποίους δε θα μπορούσε να λείπει το Zelda. Τα 'The Game Awards' ανακοίνωσαν τις λίστες με τα επιτεύγματα των φετινών παιχνιδιών. Ένα από αυτά ήταν σίγουρα και το The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild για τη νέα κονσόλα της Nintendo, που σάρωσε τα βραβεία κερδίζοντας τον τίτλο του καλύτερου Action/Adventure Game, ενώ προτάθηκε και για άλλα 12 βραβεία. Το 2015 πέρασε έχοντας προσφέρει αρκετά αξιόλογους τίτλους στην βιομηχανία των παιχνιδιών. Τα Witcher 3, Fallout 4 και Metal Gear Solid V είναι μερικά που θα συνεχίζουν να απασχολούν τους enthusiasts με συνεχή νέα και updates. Το Fallout 4 κέρδισε το βραβείο του "Καλύτερου Παιχνιδιού" ενώ ακολούθησαν πολλοί Indie τίτλοι όπως το Everybodyʼs Gone to the Rapture που κέρδισε τρία βραβεία από τα 10 που προτάθηκε. Παράλληλα το γνωστό Her Story, είναι ένα τρανταχτό παράδειγμα ενός αρκετά ενδιαφέροντος τίτλου που διηγείται την ιστορία μιας κοπέλας μέσα από βίντεο συνεντεύξεων που έχει δώσει στην αστυνομία. Exclusive τίτλοι όπως το Bloodborne πήραν και αυτοί την "απαραίτητη" δόξα, λαμβάνοντας το βραβείο Game Design ξεπερνώντας το Witcher 3 και το Her Story.
