[NEWS_IMG=Cloud Gate : Δείτε screenshots από το νέο game test της Futuremark!]http://reviews.hwbox.gr/news/futuremark.jpg[/NEWS_IMG]Μετά την αποκάλυψη την περασμένη βδομάδα του game test "Fire Strike" που θα είναι διαθέσιμο με το 3DMark επόμενης γενιάς και το οποίο είναι φτιαγμένο για να δυσκολέψει ακόμα και τα ισχυρότερα graphic setups των καταναλωτών, η Futuremark αποκάλυψε screenshots από το δεύτερο game test που ετοίμασε με το όνομα "Cloud Gate". Το Cloud Gate, ακολουθώντας τη στρατηγική της εταιρίας " Ένα Benchmark για όλες της πλατφόρμες" είναι σχεδιασμένο για να τεστάρει τις ικανότητες του hardware μας στο DirectX 10. Χρησιμοποιεί μεν τη μηχανή του DirectX 11 αλλά περιορισμένη στο επίπεδο δυνατοτήτων 10_0 (feature level 10_0). Με αυτό το ελαφρύ game test θα μπορούν να δοκιμαστούν οι GPUs των φορητών υπολογιστών αλλά και οι entry-level DirectX11 desktop GPUs.

Με το Cloud Gate οι σχεδιαστές της Futuremark μας μεταφέρουν και πάλι στο διάστημα κάτι το οποίο έλειπε από το 3DMark 11. Στα screenshots εμφανίζεται ένα γιγαντιαίο μηχάνημα το οποίο αιωρείται πάνω από ένα σεληνιακό τοπίο με μια γιγάντια μάζα αερίων στο background. Το test φαίνεται να χρησιμοποιεί αρκετά από τα εφέ illumintaion και bloom του D3D 10. Σύμφωνα με την ίδια τη Futuremark το νέο 3DMark δεν θα κυκλοφορήσει το 2012. Πρώτα θα κυκλοφορήσει η έκδοση για Windows PC (x86) τον Ιανουάριο του 2013 και στη συνέχεια θα ακολουθήσουν οι εκδόσεις για Android, iOS και Windows RT αφού προηγηθεί το απαραίτητο Beta testing και ληφθούν οι εγκρίσεις από τα αντίστοιχα app stores.
