H νέα μητρική της ECS χρησιμοποιεί το AMD 790 GX chipset και το SB750. Η ΕCS πάει για 5-phase PWM κάτι που θα επιτρέπει στους επεξεργαστές να καταναλώνουν 125W. Eίναι εξοπλισμένη με 2xPS/2 θύρες, κουμπάκι για Clear CMOS, D-sub υποδοχή, μια σύνδεση HDMI, 6xUSB 2.0, μια ενιαία eSATA, Gigabit Ethernet και 7.1-channel audio και έξοδο S/PDIF. Aκόμα διαθέτει τέσσερα memory slots, δύο x16 PCIe slots, δύο x1 PCIe slots και δύο PCI slots. Δεν υπάρχουν πληροφορίες σχετικά με την τιμολόγηση και την ημέρα κυκλοφορίας της νέας A790GXM-AD3. Οι νέοι επεξεργαστές της που θα βγουν στο ΑΜ3, με τα brand names Phenom II, Athlon X3 & Athlon X4, θα παίζουν αρχικά σε μητρικές με τα chipsets της σειράς 7xx, τα οποία θα διαθεχθούν τα RS880 & RD890. Αναλυτικότερα, το πρόθεμα "RS" υποδηλώνει την παρουσία ενσωματωμένης κάρτας γραφικών, όπως και στη σημερινή πλατφόρμα. Έτσι, το RSx80 είναι το mainstream προϊόν (π.χ. RS780 / AMD 780G), το RSx80C το value προϊόν (π.χ. RS780C / AMD 740G) και το high end το RSx80D (π.χ. AMD 790GX). To RS880 λοιπόν θα διαθέτει ένα γραφικό επεξεργαστή που θα είναι αρκετά παλιάς αρχιτεκτονικής, όπως και του RS780, αλλά θα έχει όπως ακούγεται, σημαντικά υψηλότερους χρονισμούς στον πυρήνα του. Η IGP λοιπον θα υποστηρίζει Universal Video Decoder 2 (UVD-2), 100% hardware acceleration για VC-1, H.264 και MPEG-2 bitstream decoding, video dynamic-contrast, HDMI με audio routing καθώς και DisplayPort. Το νέο chipset αναμένεται στις αγορές το Q3 του 2009. Όπως και το RS780, το νέο RS880 θα κατασκευάζεται με λιθογραφία των 55nm από την TSMC.
